55MW Boikanyo Solar, in the Northern Cape, produces enough clean energy to power some 62 000 South African homes each year, as part of the REIPPP Programme’s fourth bid window.

Located on the outskirts of Zeerust, the project is close to the border between South Africa and Botswana. During its 20 year operations period, it will benefit its local beneficiary communities through its flagship economic development programmes.

Located near the town of Brits, this solar PV facility is one of nine independent renewable energy projects awarded in Round 4 of the government’s REIPPP programme. The plant uses single-axis tracker solar PV technology to produce 110 000 MWhs of power each year.

68MW Bokamoso Solar, in the North West Province, produces enough renewable power to electrify approximately 28,000 homes, each year.
